Skinny Recipe: “Delish” Skinny Margarita for Cinco de Mayo!
Posted by Caitlin Norton
Summer weather calls for an ice cold, frozen drink. But a traditional margarita can come in at over 400 calories. The sour mix alone can contain a whopping 40 grams of sugar! Try this skinny margarita recipe adapted from Delish.com to control your portion size and cut back on the amount of sugar while still enjoying your favorite summer cocktail.
Makes two servings
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
1/4 cup of your favorite tequila
1 1/2 tablespoons Cointreau, Grand Marnier or Triple Sec
A dash of your favorite sugar substitute (to taste)
Combine all ingredients and shake with ice. Pour a little salt into a shallow dish. Drag a lime wedge across the rim of a glass and dip into the salt. Pour the mixture into the glass over some ice and garnish with a lime wedge. If you prefer a frozen margarita, like the one pictured, pour the ingredients and ice into a blender and blend to taste.
